We do adoptions in different areas of CA and Las Vegas *Las Vegas: We will be at the Pet Expo at Cashman Center on Saturday, Feb. 9th from 10-6pm. Please fill out an application so we can bring your favorite dog and set you up for the first opportunity to meet him/her and pursue an adoption! We will be in the Mega Adoption Area for dogs with the Valentine's Day themed booth along with a kissing booth!***NO CA: We will be doing adoptions next on Saturday, February 23rd from 12:30-4pm & Sunday, February 24th from 12-3pm at Campbell Pet Food Express . *So. CA: If the dog is fostered in So CA then we can do an adoption any day. We do adoptions by appointment once an application has been submitted and approved. **Please see note at the very bottom of the page regarding adoptions.
* All dogs are spayed or neutered, shots current (DHPPC, Bordatella and Rabies), heartworm tested negative and are microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application.
* We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted.
* We do not ship our dogs for any reason.
* Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy.

Alex is a 1-2 year old Shih Tzu mix. He does have a non-shedding coat that will require regular grooming once it grows out. He was so overgrown and matted his body had to be shaved. Luckily our very skilled and patience groomer was able to save the face. isn't he so adorable! He weighs about 10lbs now but should be about 14lbs when he has good weight on him. Like many dogs who are neglected he simply wasn't probably fed properly. Alex has a very sweet and loving personality. He is shy initially. He does come along fairly quickly though. He is a cuddler and a snuggler. He just needs that home that gives him a few days to settle in and if you offer him a few treats along the way, well, that's definitely the way to win this guy over. He gets along with other dogs. He currently lives with big and small dogs. He stays away from the trouble makers at the dog park. He likes to go and socialize but he also likes to go find a lap to sit on. Alex is an option to live with well behaved at least school aged kids who have parents that have proven a commitment to having dogs throughout their entire lifetime.Unfortunately we get too many emails and calls asking us to take in dogs because of kids in the home and so we are very careful about how we place our dogs with kids.

We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend) **If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
