We do adoptions in different areas of CA and Las Vegas ** * NO CA: On Saturday, January 18th from 3p-6pm & Sunday, January 19th from 11-4pm we will be at the Stevens Creek Pet Food Express. *Las Vegas: Mark the date! We will be at the Pet Expo at Cashman Center on February 8th. Can't wait until then? Send in your application so we can do an adoption! *So. CA: Please fill out an application. We do adoptions by appointment. * All dogs are spayed or neutered, shots current (DHPPC, Bordatella and Rabies), heartworm tested negative and are microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue Hershey is a 6 year old Aussie mix. He weighs 70lbs. He is a big love bug. He was available originally in our rescue several months ago and then stolen from the front yard of his foster home when they were doing yard work in the backyard. Then several months later he reappeared at their gate just waiting to come in. It has been as if he was never gone except all the tears when he did reappear. He lives with a 12 year old girl and is her best friend. He sleeps in her room. He originally slept in a crate but lately well, he's found another place to sleep, called her bed... He just wants to be with his people and if he's allowed to hang out with you, he's happiest. At the shelter when he was originally rescued, he managed to make his way into the heart's of the medical staff so he hung out in the medical offices all day mixed in with play groups at the shelter. He hated going back into the kennels and that's why we were called. He is too much of a love bug to waste away in the shelter. Hershey was turned in by his family originally to the shelter because they decided they no longer had room for him. Ironically he was living outside so kind of curious why suddenly there wasn't room. He lived with other dogs and he loves playing with them. He currently lives with small dogs and a big dog. He can be a little picky about the big dogs he likes to hang out with so if there are big dogs we need to make sure it's a love match. He is playful and does agility with the young girl at his foster home. Though he would most likely knock over little kids he has a great disposition to live with them. He's not a barker so he could actually live in an apartment or condo setting. He could live with adults who have never had a dog before. A healthy pet is a happy pet! We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend) **If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
